Movie Nights
Since 1886, the Gran Hotel Inglés has been a meeting place for personalities of the art world. From great musicians such as Chapí, Breton or Chueca, to literary figures such as Valle-Inclán, Clarín or Galdós, this space has been the object of visits and compliments over the years. The well-known "Café Inglés" now houses Lobbyto, the hotel's gastro-cocktail bar, which opens to locals and tourists to escape the hot summer nights, bringing together live music, cocktails (signed by Alex Leoparza, the hotel's mixologist) and the best gastronomy (prepared by Fernando Arellano, a Michelin star), a perfect combination to create an unforgettable experience.
Starting June 10, the "Film Nights" will be back at LoBbyto. On Fridays in June until the end of July, the multidisciplinary artist Ikah Moon, accompanied by the Cuban pianist Isbel Noa, will recover the classics of cinema, while attendees can enjoy the cocktails and gastronomic proposal of the place. Stand by me, Unchained Melody, Staying alive, no llores por mi Argentina... are just a few examples of the great classics that will be played on Friday nights. On Saturdays, on the other hand, the great romantic themes of cinema will take over the lobby and transport the diner to Broadway.
Cocktails such as Sherry Gin Tonic, Keep it simple or Plum cake blossom, are the ones that will be tasted during these movie nights, along with the new LoBbyto menu, which has been updated with seasonal products to offer more refreshing proposals. Among the starters, dishes such as tomato and avocado gazpacho, Wagyu laminated glass coca, arugula and truffled mayonnaise or homemade brioche sandwich with squid in two bakes are suggested. As main courses of this new proposal, the Atlantic sea bass fillet and leeks confit with vinagrette or the wellingtong sirloin steak, ideal for sharing, stand out. And of course, a sweet ending with the baba au rum or the apple tart tatin with vanilla ice cream.
