12 May ROCKWELL IHP, THE GRAN HOTEL INGLÉS ‘DREAM TEAM’
“We are confident in our ability to position the Gran Hotel Inglés as one of Madrid’s most distinguished hotels, with its unique style and characteristic features as our main competitive advantage.”
The Gran Hotel Inglés has brought together a team that includes the foremost experts worldwide in the fields of hotel development and interior design.
Hidden Away Hotels, specialists in the management and development of unique hotels, has chosen the Rockwell Group for the interior design project, and the engineering and architectural firm IHP Projects to help in the refurbishment and development plans for the restoration of the oldest Hotel in Madrid.
David Rockwell is one of the most prolific designers the United States has to offer – he’s a master in the design of the interiors of landmark hotels and restaurants, as well as brand and scenic design throughout the world.
In the words of Ignacio Jiménez, CEO and founding partner of Hidden Away Hotels, “ After looking into a variety of different alternatives, we liked the way that Rockwell understood immediately what we were seeking to achieve with the new Gran Hotel Inglés. They understand the importance of creating unique experiences and this was conveyed in their draft proposal. The fact that they had not worked on a project of this type before in Madrid also influenced us positively, as it meant that our project would be particularly unique and distinctive”.
The architectural and engineering design is the work of IHP Projects. According to Carmen Cordón, a partner of Hidden Away Hotels, “The construction work is scheduled to take twelve months. It was the IHP Projects Group’s expertise and many years of experience in hotel projects that led us to choose them to manage our project. At that time, we had already worked with the team in developing the Posada Terra Santa hotel and that was a resounding success.”
“The Hotel Inglés’ remarkable history, its spectacular interior design, its technological equipment and its modest size will facilitate the implementation of our service model; all of which will be complemented by a gastronomic offering, which in itself will set the standards of quality in Madrid. We are confident in our ability to position the Gran Hotel Inglés as one of Madrid’s most distinguished hotels, with its unique style and characteristic features as our main competitive advantage.” Ignacio Jiménez
