Luxury Christmas at Lobo 8

The Christmas holidays are drawing closer. Madrid is more splendid than ever at this time of the year: the streets are full of light and they are dressed to the nines to bid farewell to the year and to see in the New Year.

The capital is always a good option to enjoy the holidays for residents of Madrid and tourists who decide to get away for these special dates. Madrid has a full leisure agenda with activities suitable for travellers of all ages and tastes: Christmas markets, living nativity scenes, theatre plays, workshops and shows, among many other options.

However, let’s get down to what really matters… Have you stopped to think where you are going to have your Christmas lunch or New Year’s Eve dinner?

At the Gran Hotel Inglés and Lobo 8 (Breakfast&Brunch Restaurant in Madrid), we have all of the ingredients to turn these magical festivities into an unforgettable experience. We have prepared the best culinary selection for this Christmas, prepared with the finest ingredients in a luxury and comfortable setting in which we can assure you that you will feel at home. Do you want us to continue?

CHRISTMAS EVE DINNER

Come to the Gran Hotel Inglés and get Christmas off to a good start, accompanying us for dinner on Christmas Eve. We are in no doubt at all that the proposal by our chef, Willy Moya, will exceed the expectations of even the most exquisite of palates. Let’s get down to the nitty gritty:

As an aperitif, we suggest a foie and cured Iberian pork bonbon and a royal crab. Then, we invite you to savour our main dishes. How does red prawns marinated in their own emulsion, creamy rice, smoked milk and glazed bacon sound? And Balfego tuna belly in partridge sauce, celery root purée and toasted almonds? Don’t worry, we also have succulent options for meat lovers: pheasant with grapes, foie and truffle sauce. Whatever you decide, you won’t regret it.

And for dessert? How can we forget about dessert? The white chocolate Royal with nougat ice-cream and candied fruit in Pedro Ximénez, Mignardises and our selection of Christmas desserts will sweeten up the evening.

AND ON CHRISTMAS DAY?

Our seafood starters for Christmas Day will make you lose your senses: pickled oysters, king prawns in American sauce, ‘Dry Martini’ scallops au gratin, steamed razor clams with tiger milk, shrimp fritters and tiger crabs.

After the starters, it is time for the main feature of the banquet: lamb cooked at a low temperature, green salad, asadillo and potatoes with rosemary and thyme. To wash it all down, we suggest an appetising Christmas log.

CELEBRATE NEW YEAR’S EVE AT THE GRAN HOTEL INGLÉS

The last (and for many, the most special) night of the year deserves an unparalleled menu, doesn’t it? For this evening, we are counting on the special collaboration of Toño Pérez, chef at the Atrio Restaurant, which has 2 Michelin stars.

Do you want to know the New Year’s Eve Menu that Toño has prepared for you?

Foie, seafood, sirloin steak or red prawns are just some of the ingredients that have inspired the main dishes. However, the night does not end here; at 11.50pm, we will connect with the Puerta del Sol to eat some lucky grapes and see in the new year in the best possible way. After the clock strikes twelve, the evening entertainment will be Live Music until 3.30am. And we will see in the New Year dancing!

NEW YEAR’S DAY LUNCH

After the New Year’s Eve hangover, it is time for New Year’s Day lunch. The New Year kicks off delighting your senses at our Lobo 8 Restaurant.

What can’t you find on the menu? You can choose between vegetable toast with almond and sardine panacota, foie mille-feuille with candied pear in mustard and panettone, fish and seafood soup, sangria sorbet with cru fruit and grilled beef Chateaubriand. As the final touch, there is cream of chocolate and passion-fruit with olive oil ice-cream and a bed of croutons.
